Security Officer

Full time permanent positions are available immediately.

The successful candidate will provide security and protection services to Calgary's newest entertainment venue, responsible for the safety of patrons, staff, assets and gaming activities in our 96,000 square foot casino, which includes a 5,000 square foot entertainment showroom, 3 restaurants, lounge and bars, and underground parking areas. Working at the Stampede Casino you will gain valuable crime prevention knowledge and experience in a unique and exciting environment that will further prepare you for a career in law enforcement.

Security Officers are required to enforce age/access provisions within the casino, conduct patrols, perform customer assistance, respond to emergencies and medical calls, enforce the Trespass to Premises Act and Criminal Code, and liaise with Calgary Police, Fire and EMS. In house and external training opportunities in security law, note taking, Pressure Point Control Tactics, and First Aid/CPR are available.

This position requires individuals to work on a rotation of day and night shifts of 10-12 hours on a compressed work schedule of 4 days on and 3-4 days off.

Candidates must be diligent, observant, and reliable, must be physically capable of job tasks and must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing. Good report writing skills are essential. A police clearance will be required along with successful registration as security guards though the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission. Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent required. Extra consideration will be given to candidates with post-secondary education in law enforcement, security, or police studies, current First Aid or PPCT certification, previous security experience, or equivalent experience in a customer service environment. Demonstrated ability to use computer hardware and software will be an asset.

Maintenance

The Stampede Casino is currently looking for a new team member to join the Maintenance department.

This is a full-time position at a starting wage of $16.00 with the potential to increase after a three month probationary period. The person filling this position must be able to work a variety of shifts (day/afternoon/weekends). The regular schedule will be rotating shifts between the day & afternoon. Shifts are either 4-10 hours or 5-8 hours long.

This will be a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of Building Operations. The successful candidate will gain working knowledge in the areas of plumbing, painting, commercial kitchen equipment repair, HVAC, boilers and computerized building maintenance systems. Some janitorial work is also required. Steel toed boots and a clean record are a must.
